Skills are fundamental to the economic and social wellbeing of the UK and the prosperity of this country depends upon our ability to develop world class skills and knowledge. As an employer, you have an important part to play in raising skills levels to meet this challenge.
To assist in realising this challenge, TNG is working in partnership with the Learning & Skills Council to deliver a programme geared towards the needs of employers called 'Train to Gain'. It aims to help businesses compete with the best in the world by allowing them easy access to the training they need to succeed.
Train to Gain provides funding, supporting employees to gain nationally recognised qualifications. Partial and/or full funding is available through Train to Gain for the following:
First full Level 2 qualification (equivalent to 5 good GCSEs) (a) For employees who don’t already have a full Level 2 qualification for literacy, numeracy and English language skills, plus first Level 2 qualification.
Contributions to Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to 2 A-levels) (a) For employees with a Level 2 qualification, working towards a Level 3 qualification. (b) For employees who don’t have a Level 2 qualification but have significant experience, enabling them to “jump” straight to a Level 3 qualification. (c) For those who already possess a Level 3 qualification or above to work towards additional Level 3 qualifications.
Train to Gain is specifically aimed at employers who are not currently training their employees to achieve vocational qualifications. It will target over 3 million employers in the small to medium enterprise category (employers who employ less than 250 staff).
Our Train to Gain service is delivered in 5 simple stages and can be accessed through your local TNG centre and your regional Train to Gain Skills Broker.
