Antony, 59, had limited experience and his confidence was low when he was referred to TNG through the Jobcentre. As an ex- offender he felt this was a major obstacle in moving forward from what had happened in the past. During the course at TNG, Anthony attended workshops to improve his IT skills and he completed an Equality and Diversity training course which helped him to feel more confident in a working environment. Anthony also received support from his Personal Job Adviser and was able to secure a work placement at a charity shop, where he started his NVQ Level 2 in Retail.
Since Anthony started his work placement his confidence has improved and he plans to apply for full time work at the same organisation once he completes his NVQ in the coming months.
“When I was sentenced, I felt as though I had fallen off the ladder of life. Now I feel as though there is a way to reach the top again and I’m moving in the right direction.” Antony attended the TNG offices in Crewe |
