Colin was referred to TNG Stockton having been on jobseekers allowance for 12 months. Previous to this, Colin had lived in Turkey as a self employed property developer. Unfortunately, this ended in tragedy when he was attacked physically by another individual, leaving him in a critical position and fighting for his life.
This led to his return to the UK and, understandably, Colin felt a huge amount of personal anguish and struggled with his confidence, especially when meeting new people. This meant searching for, and securing, a job was extremely difficult for him. He had low self esteem and had little confidence that he could return to the job market was he was referred to TNG on the Flexible New Deal programme. However, he worked closely with his personal job adviser, Charlotte, and her encouragement soon meant his confidence grew and he re-established his sense of self worth, unlocking a wealth of experience and potential.
Colin’s determination has paid off and he has secured work as a Telesales Consultant at a local company, Mainframe Group, in the Homefix247 department. He’s thrilled to be back in work and is hoping to progress in his current company quickly. He said, “I have been out of work since my return to the UK but TNG, especially Charlotte, pointed me in the right direction.”
Colin still harbours a dream to return to being self employed and Charlotte has since put him in touch with TNGs sister company, InBiz, who can provide business start-up support and discuss the options available to Colin. Charlotte said, "I’m so proud of Colin, he is such a lovely man and he’s been fantastic to work with. I look forward to hearing of his progress and am sure he will progress his career in no time."
Stockton Business Manager Jarred Gough added, "Colin is our 200th customer on the FND programme who we have supported into work. It’s great that we can help local people explore their potential and find a job, or start a business."
