Michael, 57, had over 35years of experience in the motor industry. He was made redundant from his job as an MOT specialist and began looking for work but didn’t seem to have much success with the job hunt.

Although, he did manage to carry out a few odd jobs from time to time for some of his contacts.

He joined TNG in January 2010 for the one day course Prospects, after being referred from JCP. He worked closely with his adviser (Karen Newstead) who assisted him with updating his CV, job searching, developing his interview skills, self development and completing application forms.

After attending the one day course at TNG, Michael’s adviser continued to provide Michael with support by helping him and advising with job search. Within the 6months he was unemployed and since attending the course at TNG. Michael was successful with his job hunt and was offered a full-time permanent position at a college as an assistant engineer tutor in motor mechanics.
