Home Success Stories Robert (Ipswich)
Robert (Ipswich)

Robert, 38 previously worked for East Anglian Daily Times Newspaper as a sales representative for 12yrs dealing with key advertising accounts, design of adverts and canvassing for new customers. He was made redundant from his last job in 2008.

Robert was unemployed for about a year, he did a lot of job searching but did not seem to have much luck in finding a new job and he was referred to TNG on the 27th of October 2009.

TNG helped him to refresh his interview skills; he attended various courses such as job clubs, spec letter sessions, interview techniques and interview prep workshops providing him with in-depth knowledge on how to put a professional CV together.

He found that his adviser at TNG (Aimee Curtis) very supportive, encouraging him even when he felt de-motivated as he was unsuccessful with his applications in applying for a number of jobs. However, he succeeded at last and was offered a position to start work in May 2010 to work as a manager for a local interior design shop called Maud’s Attic.

Robert started working 20 hours a week but was soon offered a full-time position because he proved he was competent to carry out the work. With his new found confidence in himself and being financially better off, he is hopes to continue progressing in his career as enjoying his new position.
