Robert, 22 from Stockport, had been unemployed for twelve months before joining TNG on the Flexible New Deal programme. Having been out of work for some time, his confidence levels were low and he struggled to find the motivation to look for work.
Robert met with his personal job adviser, Daniel, on a number for occasions and together they discussed Robert’s goals and aims so he could strive to reach his target. Daniel assisted Robert with his jobsearch and gradually, Robert’s confidence improved and he had the drive to find, and secure, a job.
Robert had previously worked as a supervisor at Greggs bakery and was keen to move into another managerial role. A work placement was found for him as assistant manager at Archies Cardshop in Stockport, which he started on 16th January 2010. During his placement, Robert impressed his manager so much that he was offered the role on a permanent basis, which he was thrilled to accept.
Robert said: "TNG has given me the drive and confidence to get back in the work place with a new sense of drive and dedication. I learnt that having confidence in your own abilities is paramount when applying for jobs and in interviews.".
