An Apprenticeship programme is a great way to increase career prospects at the same time as gaining a national recognised qualification, combining a job with high quality training. The programme provides individuals aged 16 or over with the opportunity to gain experience and train while in full-time employment.

What are the benefits of the Apprenticeship programme?

There are lots of benefits to doing an Apprenticeship. Individuals can earn while they learn, and learn in a way that is best suited to them – through hands-on experience on the job. In addition, Apprenticeships provide the opportunity to:

  • Achieve a nationally recognised qualification
  • Have a new start - will in turn provide good career prospects and ensure an individual is more employable in their chosen career
  • Gain valuable work experience – this will provide the opportunity to gain practical skills and understand all aspects of the job.
  • Gain knowledge and progress on the career ladder

Who is eligible to become an Apprentice?

Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 or over, in employment and earning a minimum of £95 per week. Individuals must also live in England and not be taking part in full-time education.

What support is available at TNG?

TNG staff will be on hand to offer advice, guidance and tips at all times. Apprentices will receive regular one to one reviews to ensure they are happy and receiving the support needed from both TNG and their employer.

Our highly qualified team of assessors will work with them every step of the way and will provide a range of resources to assist them in achieving their Apprenticeship.

What Apprenticeships does TNG offer?

We currently deliver Apprenticeship training in the following areas:

  • Health and Social Care
  • Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • Administration
  • Customer Service
  • Warehousing

How does an Apprenticeship work?

There are three levels of Apprenticeship available and individuals will start at the level that best suits their past experience and qualifications. With an Apprenticeship, they can work at their own pace and we will support and work with them every step of the way with the aim of successfully achieving their Apprenticeship in less than 15 months.

Is support provided during training?

We will work with their employer to make sure they have support. In conjunction with their employer, our job is to ensure that the apprentice's training fits their personal requirements, offers the skills needed for the job and satisfies national standards. We will also be there to help them through any difficult times.

Case Study

Kathryn, 19, took up the opportunity with TNG to do her Apprenticeship programme NVQ Level 2 in Childcare. Once Kathryn has successfully completed the NVQ Level 2, her plan is to progress onto NVQ Apprenticeship Level 3 at TNG.

TNG has given me the opportunity to be able to gain my childcare qualification and I am very grateful. I am looking forward to progressing further and becoming a qualified.
