TTNG in Boston has helped move over 250 people from unemployment and into employment, training or voluntary work with its JobMAETS (Job Multi Agency Employment Teams) programme since it launched in August 2008.
Kathy Smith, 43 from Boston, enrolled on the JobMAETS programme in February, after being made redundant from her role at a sports retailer, where she was a Customer Service Assistant. She was assigned to case worker Carly Burn, who helped Kathy to write a CV, conduct focused job searches, complete job applications and work on confidence techniques.
With help from Carly, Kathy has now found work at a local hospital and will be starting her new role in September. She said, “During my time on JobMAETS, Carly has been friendly, helpful and supportive. Since working with TNG, my confidence has increased and thanks to the encouragement I received, I am looking forward to starting my new job, and am excited about my future.”
Carly Burn, caseworker at TNG said, “We work with a range of people, from those who need some jobsearch guidance, to those requiring help with training, confidence building and CV writing. We assess each person individually and help customers find jobs, move into training or start voluntary work as a way to gain practical employability skills.
“We hope to continue helping people, not just in Boston, but throughout Lincolnshire through JobMAETS.” |
