TNG, one of the UK’s leading welfare to work organisations, in Stockton is celebrating its 200th customer success on a government funded welfare to work scheme which aims to help individuals find employment through training and work experience.
TNG is working in partnership with A4e across Tees Valley and is committed to help the long term unemployed find a personalised route back into employment.
Colin Moore, 52 years old, became Stockton’s 200th customer to be successfully placed back into work since October. Colin, previously a self-employed property developer in Turkey, returned to the UK and was unemployed for 12 months before being referred to TNG.
The long period of unemployment took its toll on Colin’s confidence and became one of his main barriers to work. With the help of his adviser, Charlotte Wilkinson, Colin became more confident about his ability to find work and was helped with his CV and interview techniques. His determination paid off, as he secured work as a Telesales Consultant at Mainframe Group. Commenting on the help he received at TNG, Colin said:
"I’ve worked hard all my life, so finding myself unemployed for over a year really affected my confidence. My TNG adviser, Charlotte, made me believe that I could pick myself up and start again. I’m delighted, but not surprised, to hear that I’m TNG’s 200th customer success in Stockton since October. It’s easy to see why - everyone here is committed to getting people into work - hence their success."
Charlotte Wilkinson, Personal Job Adviser at TNG, said: "I'm really proud of Colin, he was determined to find employment and did everything he could to find work. I know that he’s really enjoying his job and look forward to hearing about his progress." Stockton Business Manager, Jarred Gough, added: "Colin is our 200th customer since October who we have supported back into work and is a great example of the work TNG does in Stockton. It’s great that we can help local people explore their potential and find a job, or start a business through our sister company, InBiz."
