Serial entrepreneur, who opened 13 branches of Subway, the Sandwich Shops, in the last six years, has credited the quality of his staff to TNG, a national welfare to work training provider.
Prakash Solanki who opened his first Subway branch in Kingston in April and Stockley Park branch in June 2004, had used the Job Centre to recruit for staff, but could not find the right candidates. Prakash started using TNG in 2006, and the relationship was so successful that he hasn’t looked back since.
Commenting on the service he has received at TNG, Prakash Solanki, said: "When I was first approached by a TNG Adviser regarding the support and services they offered, I was hesitant. Mainly because, I questioned their ability to offer a better service than other providers - I couldn’t have been more wrong. TNG’s service is very broad, its advisers go to great lengths to understand the criteria of each vacancy and match it with the right candidate for the job."
"Once on board, TNG were able to provide essential training including First Aid, Food and Hygiene and Manual Handling, with minimal disruption to my businesses as the training took place locally. TNG has played an integral part in our recent success, I am now in the process of arranging further training for staff through TNG including NVQ training in Customer Service for front line staff and Leadership & Management for Supervisors and Store Managers. I would not hesitate in recommending other employees to use TNG's recruitment and training services."
Since using TNG for its recruitment Subway have achieved the following:
Kaz Halai, TNG Business Manager in Enfield added: "Subway is a perfect example of how we can successfully work with employers to ensure that they’re getting the right staff, whilst looking to the local community for potential employees. Most employers don’t realise the range of services we provide, absolutely FREE of charge. This includes updating existing employees’ skills, through additional training, as well as training new members of staff on relevant courses, for example: customer services and food preparation."
