Speed Recruitment to help Luton locals find their perfect match
Tuesday, 24 November 2009 12:36

TNG, a national welfare to work training provider, in King Street, Luton, is taking inspiration from speed dating to help match-make jobseekers with potential employers at its office on Wednesday 25th November.

Speed Recruitment to help Luton locals find their perfect matchThe ‘speed recruitment’ sessions will be focused on the warehouse and retail sectors, with employers including Superdrug Warehouse and Aelia and Burger King at Luton Airport hoping to find a match made in heaven. Each Account Manager will see around 30 applicants, for five minute back-to-back interviews throughout the session on behalf of the employers.

Each applicant is enrolled on programmes such as New Deal and Skills for Life, being delivered by TNG in Luton. The programmes aims to help some of the hardest to reach people overcome their barriers to find employment.

Armed with briefing notes on employers and their CV, each applicant has five minutes to impress and receive the offer of a second ‘date’ - or in this case, second interview. Each employer is ‘buddied up’ with a TNG employee or subcontractor, and uses a marking sheet to provide feedback.

Prior to the speed recruitment event, Billy Schwer will be visiting the office to speak about motivational techniques, and conduct a question and answer session.
