Dr Phyllis Starkey, MP for Milton Keynes North, visited TNG, a national welfare to work training provider, in the Brunel Business Park in Bletchley on Friday (6 November) as she faced a question and answer session from some of the learners.

TNG and NEET Futures team up to help Wirral locals back to workThe learners were all aged from 16-18, and are studying towards Level 1 and Level 2 childcare qualifications.

Dr Starkey began by telling the learners about her life as an MP, before enjoying a lively and interesting debate with the learners about growing up in Milton Keynes and Bletchley.

Kim Potter, Performance Manager at TNG, said, “All the learners enjoyed meeting Dr Starkey, and learning about her role as an MP. It gave them an opportunity to talk directly to their MP about life in Milton Keynes, particularly housing and employment, and they enjoyed telling Dr Starkey about their childcare course.”

Dr Phyllis Starkey commented, “Talking to the TNG learners, I learned about issues that are important in their lives, as well learning about the qualifications they are working towards. It is always encouraging to meet people who care about Milton Keynes and Bletchley, and I wish them all well in their courses.”
