TNG, a national welfare to work and vocational training provider, in Birkenhead, has been working with NEET Futures CIC, a not for profit organisation based in Birkenhead to help jobseekers into work.

TNG and NEET Futures team up to help Wirral locals back to workNEET Futures and TNG have been providing training to unemployed people across the Wirral, helping them to gain qualifications including the Security Industry Authority licence and IT qualifications. This includes level 2 Conflict Management, IT NVQ’s and Health & Safety.

TNG provides specialist, tailored support to the unemployed, helping them to overcome their barriers into work. In Birkenhead, this includes CV workshops, tailored jobsearch, mentoring and confidence building. NEET Futures helps to provide work placements and training such as SIA Licenses and ECDL qualifications, and has even employed TNG learners.

Jason Gribben, 21 from Wallasey first went to TNG for help finding employment after being out of work for over 12 months. He completed a 13-week work placement with NEET Futures CIC, where he learned how to work as part of a team, experience working life and gain new skills in a Community Interest Company.

Head Teacher Mr Gus Van Cauwelaert says, "We are thrilled as a college to have received this very much needed sponsorship from TNG. It is an excellent example of the very effective partnerships which can be built between schools and the private sector. The pupils will be able to benefit in so many ways from this experience, including building confidence, self esteem, establishing friendships and opening the door to a wider professional performance opportunity, thanks to the generosity of TNG."

Jason enjoyed his work placement so much, that when a vacancy arose, he jumped at the chance to apply. He worked with TNG to ensure his CV was reader-friendly and up-to-date. When he was called to an interview, Jason’s TNG advisers made sure that he was well prepared by teaching him interview techniques and undergoing mock interviews. He was successful at the interview, and is now enjoying his job and studying towards his level 3 qualification in Advice and Guidance.

Jason said, “I am really enjoying my new job. I’ve made new friends, learned new skills and I’m really proud of all I have achieved. The help I received from NEET Futures and TNG made it possible.”

Carl Mannion, Managing Director of NEET Futures CIC said, “Jason is a real asset to the company having spent 13 weeks with us and learning our systems, Jason proved he was keen to get into employment and make a success of himself.”

TNG and NEET Futures are now working together on providing European Computer Driving License qualifications to their customers.

Jayne Garner from TNG Wirral said, “We have been able to provide key qualifications through NEET Futures for our customers, which combined with the tailored support from TNG, gives them an advantage in the current jobs market.”
