TNG and The Healthy Hub are holding Lincoln’s first Healthy Living event
Wednesday, 19 August 2009 00:00

The Lincoln TNG team has teamed up with The Healthy Hub, a Lincoln-based social enterprise, to hold Lincoln’s first Healthy Living event. Promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, it will be held on 1 September 2009 from 10am -2pm, at The Healthy Hub in Beaumont Fee.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Lincoln will be opening the event, which will be attended by Rachel Green, local TV chef and cook book author.

Chris Turner, TNG Area Director Lincolnshire and Rutland, said, “Healthy Living is free and open to the public. It will feature a host of local organisations dedicated to raising awareness of a healthy lifestyle including Health Plus, Addaction, Surestart and City of Lincoln Council. Sole Therapy will also be there demonstrating reiki and reflexology techniques.”

LA Fitness will be offering a free day pass to members of the public who undergo a health check at the event, and the British Heart Foundation will be conducting free Heart Start courses.

Every person attending Healthy Living will be entered into a prize draw, with prizes including a signed Rachel Green cook book, a football signed by Lincoln City FC and a CD prize pack donated by Lincs FM.

Chris added, “Some people think that being healthy is expensive or time consuming, but Healthy Living will help people to realise how easy and cheap incorporating exercise and a good diet into your everyday life can be.”
