TNG and A4e, two welfare to work training providers which help Norfolk's unemployed into work, are to play a charity football match on 11 September 2010 at North Lynn, Kingsway, Kings Lynn.
TNG and A4e are delivering welfare to work programmes in Norfolk, and across the East of England, to help people who are unemployed improve their lives by helping deliver them into sustainable employment.
TNG United and A4e United will be battling it out on the football pitch in a sponsored football match that will raise money for two charities. TNG is donating its sponsorship to The Lord's Taverners, the UK's leading disability sports charity and NAAS, and A4e is raising money for the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), a charity established to overcome social exclusion and improve lives by building and sharing knowledge within the voluntary and not for profit sectors.
Each TNG and A4e office across the East has pledged to donate money, and players are also collecting individual sponsorship for the event.
The full 90 minutes will be played, plus stoppage time, with unlimited substitutions, allowing all squad members a chance for glory. The aim is to raise £2000 to split between the charities.
David Thompson, Regional Director at TNG said, "TNG is committed to helping the community, not only through the work we do with unemployed people to help them back into work, but also through events such as this one, supporting charities which do so much to help the local area. "Although this is a charity football match, there is a lot of pride at stake- it's like the East Anglian derby for us. We'll be putting all we have into this, and we have our best players in training already, so A4e United had better watch out!"
James Bending, A4e Branch Manager said, "We are thrilled to be working with TNG in supporting work within the local community. We are a social purpose company that sits at the heart of the community, striving to help improve the lives of individuals and their families. Like TNG, we too feel proud to be supporting local charities and organisations, through the FSI, as the work they do is fantastic and makes a real difference to people, their families and communities at large". |
