Natasha (Leicester)
Thursday, 02 September 2010 09:03

Natasha, 19 from Leicester had limited work experience; she had completed an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Leadership and her GCSE's whilst at school.

She was referred to TNG from the Job Centre under the Community Task Form program. At first Natasha was placed at three different providers but never settled, she felt she was being picked on and treated differently from staff members. Her adviser visited her whilst she was at one of the placements and Natasha was clearly unhappy.

However, she received support from her adviser who helped Natasha with her confidence and communication skills. Natasha attended her weekly Job Search sessions and her adviser managed to secure a placement at the Samaritans.

Her role started in July 2010 at the Samaritans, this involved working on the tills serving customers, tagging garments and maintaining the appearance of the shop.

Natasha really enjoyed working at the Samaritans for 13 weeks and has gained good retail experience on her placement. Her plan is to try to secure a full-time permanent job in the area of retail Natasha commented,

"TNG helped me to realise that if you put your mind to anything it can be achieved"
