Anna, 40 from Lowestoft previously worked as a barmaid; in 1987 she decided to give up work to raise her family. She was claiming income support as a single parent and for the last 16 months has claimed JSA.

In March 2010 Anna decided to get back into work, she approached a few agencies to help her get back into self employment but did not have much luck. She had no formal qualifications prior to joining TNG on the FND programme.  Her adviser Michelle Bergin helped Anna to update her CV, attend interviews and self development workshops which boosted her confidence in helping her to identify skills such as time management, multi tasking and communicating effectively at interviews.

With the support from TNG Anna was keen to find work and this helped to explore other opportunities in the area of Care and Cleaning.  Anna applied for a job at Maid Marians as a cleaning operative she was successful at the interview and was offered the permanent part-time position which she commenced on the 31/05/10. Her goal is to work hard with the hope to attend college and train to be a career.
