Jayson, 38, joined TNG Stockport in December 2009 on the Flexible New Deal programme.  He had worked previously as a Warehouse Operative but had left this job in 2004 and had not worked since.

Jayson had a criminal record and this, combined with a lack of confidence having been out of work for five years, meant that he was struggling to find, and keep, a job.

Jayson had little motivation when he joined TNG and couldn’t understand the benefits of getting a job.  He worked closely with his TNG Adviser, Daniel, and gained a work experience at Travis Perkins in order to brush up on his skills and get back into a working routine.  While on work placement, Jayson’s attitude was transformed; he was diligent, enthusiastic and had a perfect attendance record.  His new-found motivation meant that he was keen to find a job and, alongside his work placement, he dedicated his time to creating a CV and actively seeking work.

Jayson’s employees recognised his determination to find work and were pleased with the effort he had demonstrated during his placement so offered him a job.  Jayson was thrilled to accept and started work with them in May 2010.  He said "I have learnt to get back into the way of working again and really enjoy being at TNG and am grateful for their help"
