Leonora Zirhali

Leonora is a lady in her fifties who had been out of paid employment for a considerable period of time prior to attending TNG Rochdale, having spent the majority of her time raising her children and taking care of her grandson.

However, since attending TNG, Leonora feels that her basic skills provision has "inspired her to want to learn more".  She has successfully passed her Entry 3 literacy examination and is currently awaiting her literacy level one. In addition, she has passed her practice test and is eager to complete numeracy at level one also.

In terms of employment prospects, Leonora says that she had gained

"significant experience whilst on her placement" at a charity shop in Rochdale. During her time at TNG, she has also attended job interviews for both paid and voluntary employment in the caring sector.

Overall, the holistic gain that Leonora feels she has experienced has inspired her to return to TNG at the end of her allocated programme on a part-time basis to gain extra literacy and numeracy provision.
