| 09 May 2008 When Sandra, from charity Family Support Link (an agency who supports families of drug users) initially considered the possibility of using the Mentoring programme, she was doubtful about how the programme could be beneficial to the charity. However, after discussing it in great detail with Mentoring Co-ordinator Liz, Sandra recognised the structured nature of the Mentoring programme and came to the realisation that it could have a positive impact on the way she and her staff worked. After using the programme, Sandra found that it encouraged her and her colleagues to re-focus the way in which they work. In particular, the management training key exercises (including the use of SMART goals) has been effective in altering the way they approach situations on a daily basis. Sandra says “The training itself was very professional and the tutor was able to not just answer but explain the concept which gave a sense of confidence to all. I also found the wheel of life a valuable tool for both the Mentors and Mentees. With the help of our tutor, I have gained some very valuable lessons on this course and we will all be incorporating them into our work day.” | |
