Celine, 28, left school at 13 having gained no qualifications.  After leaving prison, she took advantage of short courses and training available to her through the OLASS project in the East Midlands, which lead to her gaining employment with a social enterprise business in Nottingham.

Now a single parent, Celine was keen to develop her skills and work experience in order to secure a future for her and her child.

Celine decided to enrol on TNG’s Introduction to Mentoring programme as she saw an ideal opportunity for her to draw on her own experiences to help others in similar situations.  She successfully completed the course before continuing to the Mentoring in Action programme.  This has involved Celine working one-on-one with a mentee, and as a result of the Mentoring programmes Celine has been encouraged to use her own experiences to support and empower her Mentee to tackle their own barriers.
